Mercado brasileiro de borracha natural em 2003 e expectativas para 2004

RESUMO
O ano de 2003 foi favorável à heveicultura brasileira, com elevação dos preços recebidos por produtores de borracha natural. As perspectivas para o mercado de borracha em 2004 continuam positivas. O ano inicia-se com grandes expectativas por parte do segmento produtivo quanto à formulação de uma política de apoio ao setor heveícola. Questões importantes como a inclusão da borracha natural no Programa de Garantia de Preços Mínimos e crédito para investimento e custeio dos seringais continuarão sendo discutidas, desta vez na Câmara Setorial da Borracha Natural, cuja criação o governo federal já anunciou para este ano.

ABSTRACT
The year 2003 was favorable for Brazilian rubber production, with a rise in prices received by natural rubber producers. The outlook for the rubber market in 2004 continues positive. The year started off with high expectations on the part of the segment about the formulation of a policy of support to the natural rubber sector. Important questions as inclusion of natural rubber in the Program of Guarantee of Minimum Prices and credit for investments and costs of rubber tree plantations will continue being discussed, now in the Natural Rubber Sectoral Chamber, whose creation the Federal Government has already announced for this year.
